A Little About Me

My name is Juraj Repinac, I come from a small town near Osijek (Croatia).
I've been a graphic designer and illustrator since 2007, when I first came into contact with Photoshop and I've been working in it ever since.
As a professional illustrator, most of my work is done in Eastern style (manga & anime), which you can follow on my Behance profile or DeviantArt. Keep scrolling right to find my curated Art Gallery.

My academic background as a researcher and my interest in history and mythology lead me to writing historical books, and I’ve published one book already (Osijek Mermaid) and my second book, Red Flowers, is currently in the making and will be published in English too.

At my free time I also create and play music, with focus on guitar but I also have experience on playing trumpet and bass guitar, and I’m passionate about music in general. I have played in several bands, mostly as a Bass guitarist.

Hobbies & Passions

I'm a passionate person, with a lot of interests and hobbies such as reading, exploring, biking, drawing, writing and many other things.

I’m a professional roleplayer, I create D&D campaigns and RPG scenarios & maps, as well as lead campaigns as a DM (DungeonMaster).
Aside from that, I’m passionate about researching history, mythology, reading historical novels and searching for new theories about prior events.

GIG-ZAG Travel Journal & Research

GIG-ZAG is a project I’ve been developing in partnership with fellow traveller, artist & developer, countess Hanike Treisce, which aims to research and expose cultural and historical facts of places in order to create and increase the interest on both tourism and historical research of Croatia and Rio de Janeiro, through the creation and regular update of what we called a “travel journal” website.
After off-site and in-site research, we’ll be writing articles about historical and tourist places and their historical background, as well as exposing cultural facts through the analysis of societies and their relationship and direct influence on local tourism. Lastly, we’ll be creating outdoor activity guides with emphasis on exploration, aimed to both locals and tourists.
We have plans of forming strategic partnerships with both the Croatian and Brazilian tourist boards, historical research societies and associations that may be interested on the Brazilian-Croatian immigration, as well as private companies with shared interests.
Three books are planned to be written on the process, one with a focus on historical research, another about the Brazilian-Croatian immigration, and a third one focused on tourism, cultural shock & travel photography.       [ Contact us if you're interested on partnerships or supporting us! ]

My Book

Published in 2017, Osječka Sirena (Osijek Mermaid) is by no means your usual book. With style heavily inspired by Catcher in Rye, Osijek Mermaid follows Karlo, a passive student without perspective, sarcastically describing his life without holding anything back, from losing job and college to meeting Anabella Kozarac, the ghost of a girl who died in World War II near Osijek.
The novel mixes Croatian and European history, Slavic mythology, humor and romance, making it an unforgettable experience.
